Greenlining Fund

Greenlining Fund Overview

Program Overview

Greenlining Fund

Reinvesting in Communities. Expanding Homeownership. Preventing Displacement.

The Greenlining Fund provides intentional investment in historically redlined Omaha and Council Bluffs neighborhoods to help families build wealth through homeownership, preserving existing housing, and preventing displacement.

Created in response to recommendations from the 2021 Housing Affordability, Needs, and Priorities Assessment, the fund supports current and future homeowners through targeted investments in home repairs, property tax relief, and homeownership opportunities.

A Community Led Approach

The Greenlining Fund is guided by a resident-led Community Advisory Committee (CAC). Committee members bring neighborhood knowledge, lived experience, and community perspective to funding recommendations and long-term strategy.
Their leadership helps ensure investments reflect local priorities and create meaningful impact for residents.

Why This Work Matters

Historically redlined neighborhoods continue to experience the lasting effects of decades of disinvestment and unequal access to opportunity. The Greenlining Fund seeks to address those inequities through intentional reinvestment, housing stability initiatives, and pathways to long-term wealth building through homeownership.
